Week in OSINT #2020-06
Another week, another small collection of the OSINT news from last week.
Last week a lot of investigative journalists showed their concerns about Terraserver moving their business to PrecisionHawk. Especially since they provided one of the more affordable services when it comes to high resolution imagery. Of course I’ll discuss this in this episode, together with some other things I’ve seen, got sent or stumbled upon during my weekly scouring on the internet.

Article: Satellite Imagery
Loránd Bodó notified me about a blog post by Joe Morrison from Azavea. The blog post talks about several options when it comes to free or paid satellite and aerial imagery providers, which is useful after Terraserver moved their products over to PrecisionHawk.
But there are some more places where people can find imagery. Not all of them are useful when hi-res imagery is needed, but they can still be useful when looking at environmental issues or big events. For that, I have shared a link before in Week in OSINT @2019–19, and it has been updated last month with the latest news and sources.

Last week I received a tip from ex16x41, who only pointed me to a Chinese GitHub repo called ‘OSINT spider’. It wasn’t so much the code that was important, or the Chinese text, because the screenshots told me enough already. When working with a Google CSE (Custom Search Engine), the results are retrieved in JSON format. Not only that, most of the times the results are already processed in a neat format! For instance, when going over the CSE for LinkedIn profiles — see the next topic — while having the developer tools open, it is possible to see a neatly structured format that is ready for easy processing.

Intelligence X has added a new section to their website. It allows you to search for Google Analytics code, by sending off the code to a few different websites that provide that service. So no more hassle when searching several web sites, this is one click to rule the all 😉

Dutch OsintGuy created a new 10 minute tip, and this time it’s a workaround to view LinkedIn profile without being logged in. There are multiple ways to do it, but this is just one way of getting to the information you seek. Thanks for the tip Nico!

OSINT Bookmarks
OSINT Combine had been collecting bookmarks for a while now. They saved them — neatly structured — in their browser and decided to share it with the community! So if you’re new into the field of OSINT, or you are constantly Googling my newsletter for that one particular link (like me!), then this might be of help!

Last year a new OSINT startup was founded called Yuleak (on Twitter under YouleakCom). The website provides a web based search engine that can quickly help you to find public information on a target domain or IP address. After entering a domain, for instance the site bitcoinviews[.]com, it provides you with all kinds of details about the target in a dashboard.
It gives you the ability to view connected (sub)domains, IP addresses, onion addresses and other indicators in a graph and you can even pivot from there to find more information on newly discovered leads.
I’ve played with it a little bit, but I really need to dive in this one a bit more. It looks nifty, it’s fast, it has loads of information, including onion-links and it looks like a very useful tool!
